How to find the serious emergency hapenned?
The inhabitants are warned about the emergency which thretens lives, possessions or environment through sirens and subsequently they are verbally informed by means of electronic sirens, on the radio, on TV, by the report of a local loudspeaker,by means of mobile means and the internet media.

How many warning signals are there in the Czech Republic?
In the Czech Republic there is established one warning signal called "General Warning" ( variable tone of a siren for 140 seconds which can be sent out three times one after the other in about three minute intervals).It is declared in case of threat or emergency.

What to do when hearing the signal "General Warning"?
If you hear the warning signal "Genaral Warning", and it isn`t evidently the case of the flood ,immediately find the hiding place in the nearest building.This building can be e.g. a shop,a public building, a private flat,a plant,an office etc. In the building where you are hidden close and seal the door and the windows, turn off the ventilation.By closing and sealing of the space you will reduce the probability of your contamination. You will hear the information about what has happened and what you should do in emergency news from the mass media (radio,TV).This information can be also broken by the local loudspeaker.The children shouldn`t leave the school and their parents shouldn`t rush them home. The teachers will look after them.The siren can very likely signal the leak of dangerous stuff , too.

Do we have any other signals which are sent out by the sirens?
The sirens also send out the signal "Fire-Alarm"This signal is sent out by the variable tone of the siren for 1 minute.The signal serves to call up the troops of fire protection. This signal isn`t a warning signal.To verify the function of the integrated warning and information system ( siren test) the test continuous tune of the siren is sent out for 140 seconds.The verifying of the function of the integrated warning and information system (siren test) is done at 12.00 a.m. every first Wednesday in the month.

Where will you get the information about the character of possible threat, about forthcoming rescue and liquidating work,about the protection of the inhabitants in case of emergency?
The citizen will get the information about the character of possible threat,about forthcoming rescue and liquidating work and about the protection of inhabitants in case of emergency in the responsible local authority.In the place of the detached place of work the employee will get the information from his/her employer ( the responsible juristic person or the business physical person).
