Thanks to the stagnation of the economical life in 17th and 18th centuies Prachatice can offer to its visitors and inhabitants its Renaissance atmosphere , covered only partly by later Empire reconstructions.The protected historical buildings were the reason why the historical centre of the town was proclaimed the Urban Restoration Area in 1981.
