History of Prachatice
In 1719 after the death of Princess Marie Arnostka, the last of the Eggenberks, the whole dominion of Cesky Krumlov including Prachatice was taken over by Adam Frantisek of Schwarzenberk.
The political and economical situation was also presented in the sphere of the citizen entreprise. The consequence of it was the very weak ability to reconstruct (or build) new houses. So hardly any of the citizen houses was reconstucted in the Baroque style. So among the building monuments of 18th century on the territory of the town can be found only Baroque chapels of St.Jan Nepomucky (by the Lowe Gate) and of St.Antonin Paduansky and of St.Jan Nepomucky (in the space in front of the former Upper Gate).
