Development in 16th century

     Probably already at the beginning of 14th century in the north-east corner of the square there was established the Church of St.James the Greater the Saint of pilgrims and traders . The church was constructed in the Gothic style and especially thanks to later added parts it belongs to the most significant architectural monuments of the South Bohemian Late Gothic.The church of St.James is probably the only construction from 14th century which has been protected.However,it is possible to suppose the busy building activity.
